The Fundació PortAventura sets a new record for funds raised at the 13th edition of its annual Charity Dinner.

The total proceeds from this new edition will be equally divided to support the projects of Fundació Casa Sant Josep (Xarxa Santa Tecla), Fundació URV – Centre de Formació Permanent, and the Dreams Village project of the Fundació PortAventura.

More than 1,200 people gathered yesterday at the 13th edition of the traditional annual Charity Dinner of the Fundació PortAventura, held at the PortAventura Convention Centre. The event, which annually brings together charitable organizations, companies, public entities, and individuals, broke its fundraising record, raising 125,391 euros that will be fully and equally distributed among the social projects led by Fundació Casa Sant Josep (Xarxa Santa Tecla), Fundació URV – Centre de Formació Permanent, and the Dreams Village project of Fundació PortAventura.

The charity evening was filled with surprises and performances for a good cause under the theme “Let’s Dream of a Better Future.” Ramón Marsal, president of the Fundació PortAventura, presented the collected contributions during the ceremony and emphasized the importance of this event, highlighting that “it is an opportunity to reflect on the impact we can achieve together in our communities, contributing to projects with high social impact with the goal of building a more just, equitable, and opportunity-filled future for everyone.” He also expressed gratitude to the guests, partners, collaborating companies, and volunteers, “whose commitment and support make our mission possible.

The PortAventura Foundation will hold its traditional Charity Dinner at the PortAventura Convention Centre on 20 July. The event will bring together individuals, companies, public entities and charitable organisations, who will be able to enjoy a dinner full of surprises and shows for a good cause, under the motto “Smiles that heal”.

All the money raised in this new edition will be allocated equally to promoting the projects of the Joan XXIII hospitals in Tarragona, Sant Joan de Reus and the PortAventura Dreams project of the PortAventura Foundation.

ENTITIES

Centre de Formació Permanent URV

We present two independent yet interrelated projects with the common denominator of providing successful responses to society’s most vulnerable groups.

INSERLAB is a project committed to educational inclusion and reducing inequalities. To achieve these objectives, the project focuses on breaking employment barriers that depend on external factors (such as social discrimination) and those related to personal factors (such as personal motivation and educational level). It targets young people who suffer from the lowest employment rates in the labor market due to reasons such as disabilities, developmental disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. The course applies the principle of universal design for learning and adapts educational activities to the specific support needs of the students. Moreover, it enhances the independence, self-esteem, and technical and social skills of the participants, preparing them for job integration.

AMB-ÈXIT-ED addresses the educational and social needs of young people who have been in care, reducing educational inequality and promoting equal opportunities. Given the high percentage of young people who do not complete higher education, the program combines academic support, resources, and guidance to foster academic success. Completing university studies opens doors to job and social opportunities, contributing to poverty and unemployment reduction in this group. The program’s potential impact is to promote a more inclusive society by enhancing the academic and social success of young people in care, transforming their lives.

Fundació Casa Sant Josep (Xarxa Santa Tecla)

The foundation was established in 1912 with the goal of providing care for boys and girls who lacked a family environment to care for them. For over a century, it has worked in favor of children and adolescents at risk or in situations of neglect. Currently, the foundation is managed by Xarxa Santa Tecla. The project we present involves the creation within the CRAE Sant Josep of an environment resembling a welcoming and pleasant home that fosters work with all family members who are currently not living together and allows the technical team to conduct a diagnosis and intervention with a view to possible family reunification.

In this space, families’ parental capacities will be strengthened, and they will be provided with tools to address the causes that led to the separation of the child from their family nucleus.

In Catalonia, the total child population cared for by Social Services and DGAIA is 17,964 children and adolescents, 6,580 of whom are under the guardianship of DGAIA and live in residential centers or with foster families. Most of these minors cannot live with their own families due to the significant difficulties and lack of parental capacities of their parents.

PortAventura Dreams

PortAventura Dreams is a project by Fundació PortAventura that consists of a Village located within the PortAventura World resort, offering a unique experience to children with serious illnesses and their families. The main objective is to achieve a positive psychological impact on the recovery of these children while also nurturing new moments of family togetherness.

The Charity Dinner of Fundació PortAventura: More Than a Decade of Commitment and Solidarity

Since 2011, we have organized our traditional Charity Dinner, which, after all these years, has become a benchmark in the field of charity events, bringing together individuals, companies, public entities, and charitable organizations.

Each edition is always characterized by a unique theme that reflects the values and principles that we at Fundació PortAventura aim to promote. These themes not only serve as a guiding thread for the dinner but also inspire attendees to reflect on the importance of solidarity and social responsibility.

The full proceeds of the dinner are always equally divided among the beneficiary entities, hospitals, charity projects, and/or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
